CASE STUDY - A Not So Uniform Program
CLIENT: Respironics
Homecare
GOAL: Provide
an easily accessible method for employees to view apparel,
make selections and place orders using a predetermined corporate
allowance.
CHALLENGE: Provide
a user-friendly Web site for employees not accustomed to computers
and allowing the use of a personal credit card if the corporate
allowance was exceeded.
ACTION: Cavanaugh
worked with Respironics to select 18 apparel items with 4-5
different color options per style. A password-specific Web
site was developed to feature these items, resulting in over
400 item numbers to accommodate all possible sizes per style
and color. Cavanaugh spent three days on site at Respironics
to assist employees with their online orders and to display
the available merchandise. Orders were placed online for a
set period of time and then combined into one bulk order.
The individual customer orders were packaged and labeled with
their pack slip and invoice, sorted alphabetically by shift,
and delivered to Respironics. The Web site was converted to
allow current employees to continue placing orders via personal
credit card while new employees would still have access to
their corporate allowance.
